Prosecutor's Office Lifts Ban on Four Journalists Leaving Azerbaijan
Baku / 06.05.19 / Turan: On Monday, four journalists were invited to the Azerbaijan Prosecutor General"s Office for Combating Grave Crimes, where they were informed about the lifting of the ban on their departure from the country, which had been in force for 4 years (since 2015).
"We were received by the head of the Prosecutor General"s Office, Eldar Ahmedov, and handed over notices signed by himself that the restriction on exit was lifted due to the elimination of the need," journalist Natig Javadli told Turan.
In addition, similar notifications were given to Isolde Agayeva, Salima Jalilova and Rasim Garacha.
As expected, in the near future, the ban should be lifted from at least 8 more journalists, at one time or another, who prepared materials for Meydan TV.
Recall that the exit ban was imposed in connection with the criminal case against a group of journalists collaborating with the Meydan TV Internet resource based in Berlin.
All these years, more than 10 journalists were periodically called in for interrogations to the Prosecutor General"s Office, where they were required to disclose sources of funding for Meydan TV.
Many international organizations sharply criticized the authorities for violating the rights of journalists cooperating with Meydan TV. -02B-

The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees.
