Protest in Turkey against the death of veteran of the Karabakh war
A protest against the self-immolation of the Azerbaijani Karabakh war disabled, Zaur Hasanov, took place in the Turkish city of Mersin on January 3.
The rally was organized by the Society of Azerbaijani culture and Azerbaijani students .
The rally participants held slogans: "Ilham Aliyev do not burn veterans - they are your soldiers." Hundreds of protesters blamed the Azerbaijani authorities for the death Hasanov, and demanded punishment of those responsible in bringing the veteran to suicide.
* Forty-two-years-old Zaur Hasanov was a father of five children, and committed self-immolation on December 25 in the center of Baku, in front of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan in protest against the demolishing his cafe. The veteran died in the evening of December 28 . - 03D06 -

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
