Provocation against the human rights defender's brother
Baku/11.05.18/Turan: Human rights defender, Tale Hasmamedov, announced a provocation against his brother Valeh Hasmamedov. So, a resident of the Goychay region, Zahid Azizov, appeared in V.Hasmamedov's cafe on the evening of May 10 and took a glass from the table and hit him on the head of Valeh. Then, with fragments, Azizov injured Valeh, and left the cafe. V.Hasmamedov complained to law enforcement agencies, but no measures were taken.
According to T.Hasmamedov, it was Azizov who committed a provocation against him in 2015 and then the activist was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment, accusing him of hooliganism and causing bodily harm.
T.Hasmamedov was subsequently pardoned and released. However, in April he was again prosecuted on charges of hooliganism against a traffic police officer.
Tale Khasmamedov is known for conflict with local authorities because of his publications about corruption and human rights violations. -06D-

Around 15 stray dogs, accustomed to gathering at the Danachi landfill on the outskirts of the city, were shot by unknown assailants. The timing, coinciding with the fireworks, likely masked the sound of gunfire, ensuring that the heinous act went unnoticed until dawn.
