Putting into operation the channel Velvelechay - Takhtakorpu
The day before a trip of the head of the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Shabran region attended the opening of a number of infrastructures. In particular, with the participation of heads of state held a launching ceremony of the new water and sewer systems in Shabran.
In addition, Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the channel Velvelechay-Takhtakorpu and started filling with water in Tahtakerpyunskogo reservoir.
The water in the canal Velvelechay Takhtakorpu, the length of which is 34 kilometers, will be taken with the 50-km from the Samur-Absheron canal and enter the Tahtakerpu water reservoir.
The total capacity of the reservoir is 268.4 million cubic meters. It is planned to build in the dam a power plant with three turbines with a total capacity of 25 megawatts.
Operation of the reservoir will improve the irrigation system of arable land in Shabran and Guba regions, and will expand irrigated areas.—06D--
