Railway Undertaking Measures to Prevent Swine Flu
The Azerbaijani Railway Department reported on the adoption of preventive steps to prevent the spread of swine flu from neighboring countries.
As the press service of the railway said, they have reinforced sanitary measures and designed chambers for a temporary stay of persons with suspected influenza. Medicines and personal hygiene items are stockpiled.
In identifying passengers with suspected influenza, information is immediately transmitted to the Medical Service to take the necessary measures.
Note that in all the neighboring countries of Azerbaijan numerous cases of infection and death from the flu virus have been identified.
In Armenia, 18 people died, in Georgia – one, and in Russia - about 30. Deaths from swine flu have also been registered in Turkey and Iran.
With all of these countries except Armenia, Azerbaijan supports transport links. Every day, thousands of citizens of these countries come to and go from Azerbaijan. -02B-
