Relatives of I.Rahimov confirmed the end of the hunger strike
Baku/05.09.19/Turan: Relatives of the journalist Ikram Rahimov confirmed the message of the Prison Service about stopping his hunger strike on the 30th day.
The hunger strike was terminated at the request of doctors due to his critical health, relatives said.
The editor of the realliq.info website, Ikram Rahimov, went on a hunger strike in protest against the court"s decision, which sentenced him on June 12 this year to 5.5 years in prison on charges of extortion by threats. He does not plead guilty.
The defense requested a second judicial investigation, new interrogations of witnesses and victims due to falsification of their testimonies in the trial court.
The lawyer also asked to appoint a re-examination of the audio recording of telephone conversations of Rahimov. -0-
