Weather Forecast for January 16
National Hydrometeorology Service has announced the weather forecast for January 16, predicting varied conditions across the country.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, partly cloudy skies are expected with intermittent rain during the day, tapering off by evening. A southeastern wind will shift to northwesterly during the day. Temperatures are forecast to range between 3°C and 6°C at night and 6°C to 9°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is anticipated to be 768 mmHg, with relative humidity of 70-80%.
Across most regions, the weather is expected to remain dry, except for eastern areas at night and in various regions during the day where intermittent precipitation, including snow, is likely. Foggy conditions are forecast in some areas, accompanied by a westerly wind, which could intensify in certain locations. Temperatures will vary from 1°C to 6°C at night and 6°C to 11°C during the day, with mountainous areas experiencing nighttime lows of -3°C to -8°C and daytime highs of 0°C to 5°C.
In Nakhchivan, dry conditions will prevail with occasional fog and westerly winds. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range from -1°C to -6°C, and daytime temperatures from -1°C to 4°C.
In Karabakh, including cities such as Shusha, Khankendi, and Aghdam, intermittent precipitation and snow are forecast. Fog and westerly winds are anticipated, with temperatures ranging from -2°C to 3°C at night and 3°C to 8°C during the day.
In the Eastern Zangezur region, encompassing districts like Kalbajar, Gubadli, and Lachin, conditions will generally be dry. However, some mountainous areas may experience intermittent precipitation, including snow. Fog and strong westerly winds are also expected. Temperatures will range from 0°C to 4°C at night, with mountain areas reaching as low as -5°C, and daytime highs of 3°C to 8°C.
Other regions such as Ganja, Gazakh, and Tovuz will mostly experience dry weather, though evening snowfall may occur in mountainous areas. Temperatures are forecast to be between 0°C and 5°C at night and 7°C to 11°C during the day.
In Lankaran, Masalli, and nearby districts, intermittent precipitation is forecast, intensifying in the evening in some areas. Mountainous regions could see snow, with temperatures ranging from 2°C to 5°C at night and 6°C to 10°C during the day. Mountainous areas will experience nighttime temperatures of 0°C to 2°C and daytime temperatures of 4°C to 7°C.
