Report on Arrest of High-ranking Customs Official Not Confirmed
Baku / 07/01/17 / Turan: Information on the arrest on corruption charges of the head of the Sadykhli customs post Mehmandar Hasanov (the Azerbaijani-Georgian border) is not confirmed.
According to a number of media outlets on Saturday, Hasanov was detained by employees of the State Security Service. At the same time, the customs officer's car was seized 100 thousand dollars, and during the search in his apartment - 800 thousand dollars was arrested.
Hasanov is the brother of a Milli Majlis MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi. "Such reports are a lie. This is a custom lie of a number of media. There was no operation, and my brother is sitting at his workplace," the deputy said in a conversation with a correspondent of Turan.
In turn, the State Security Service and the Customs Committee also did not confirm the report on the detention of Mehmandar Hasanov. -03B-
