Zaur Gambarov
Baku/19.03.21/Turan: Regional correspondent of the Anews.az website Zaur Gambarov was released today after the Baku Court of Appeal commuted his punishment.
According to the lawyer Javad Javadov, Gambarov was imprisoned on October 20, 2020 for a period of 3 years and six months. Today the court partially satisfied the complaint and replaced the imprisonment with the restriction of freedom for two years.
So, for two years, he will have to be at home from 11 pm to 7 am. However, given that he had already spent five months behind bars, the court reduced the sentence to 1 year and two months.
Gambarov was accused of hooliganism with the use of a weapon or an object in the form of a weapon (Article 221.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan). The charge was brought against him by an official of the Social Security Service of the Gadabay region. The real reason for the harassment of the report was his critical videos about violations and corruption in the area.-0-
