Restoration of water supply begins in Lachin
Baku/10.09.22/Turan: The restoration of the drinking water supply system has begun in the city of Lachin and the villages of Zabukh and Sus, "Azersu" OJSC (Azervoda) reported today.
First of all, the state of the existing water sources of the city of Lachin, water reservoirs, main and intra-city supply lines was audited.
"It was found that the main water source of the city – subartesian wells are completely unusable. In the area of wells, receiving installations, pumping stations, power supply systems were purposefully disabled, pumps disassembled and removed. In view of the impossibility of restoring subartesian wells in a short time, it was decided to supply water from alternative sources – from nearby springs," "Azersu" said in a press release.
In this regard, emergency sections of the main water pipeline were repaired in a short time.
Owing to the unsuitability of intra-city lines for use, it was decided to temporarily lay ground water pipelines.
For this to happen, 3 km of polyethylene pipes of various diameters have already been laid.
A design of the sustainable water supply system of the city has also started, the press release concludes.
It should be recalled that the restoration of the control of the Azerbaijani army over Lachin, Zabukh and Susa was officially announced on August 26. -06B-
