Rufat Safarov’s Appeal Postponed
The meeting on the complaint of the convict investigator of the Zardob prosecutor’s office Rufat Safarov scheduled for October 31 at the Shirvan Court of Appeal has been postponed to November 17. This happened because Safarov contained in the Kurdakhani detention center in Baku was not brought to the court.
According to the lawyer Behruz Bayramov, the defense objected to consideration of the case without the participation of the accused. The state prosecutor agreed with that.
The lawyer said that the defense requires justification of Safarov and a special decision on the judges of the first instance court, which put pressure on the lawyer and the accused, giving them no time to prepare for the last word.
Recall that the former investigator Rufat Safarov was sentenced in September 2016 to 9 years in prison on charges of taking bribes. Before that, he was fired from the prosecutor's office with the wording "for the violation of behavior standards."
His father is a former activist of the ruling party, Eldar Sabiroglu, who was a member of parliament for long, and then the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense. After the dismissal he began to criticize and blame Ramiz Mehdiyev for mediocrity. Then a crackdown on Rufat Safarov began. -06B-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
