Separatists Ask the Red Cross to Take Away the Bodies of Pilots of Downed Helicopter
The Karabakh separatists have appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross to act as an intermediary to transfer the three bodies of the pilots of the Armenian helicopter shot down by the Azerbaijani side on 12 November to the Armenian side. The separatist forces’ commander Movses Hakobyan told www.news.am about this.
According to him, the helicopter crashed near the positions of Azerbaijani forces and the Armenians have no possibility to pick up the bodies. That is why they had to contact ICRC to mediate.
According to the Armenian side, the place of the helicopter crash is under constant bombardment.
Meanwhile, the ICRC office in Baku told Turan that they are in dialogue with the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan on this issue. In accordance with the Geneva Conventions, the parties to the conflict must do everything to search and find the wounded and dead. ICRC is ready to participate in this as a neutral mediator, they noted in the Red Cross office. -02D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
