Serbia threatens to review relations with Azerbaijan because of football hooligans
Embassy of Serbia in Azerbaijan has expressed concern about the incident yesterday during a training session of the Belgrade club "Partizan" at the stadium. Tofik Bakhramov in Baku.
According to the embassy, the fans of the club "Neftchi" with which "Partisan" is found today in the second leg play-off Europe League, "along with shouts, throwing the football field bottles, stones and other objects." "After the training on the way to the hotel hooligans threw stones and damaged the bus carrying the players," reads the statement.
Embassy of Serbia expects to take appropriate security measures for the players and fans of "Partisan" prior to their departure from Baku.
"We hope that this incident was not organized. But another similar incident can ruin a good relationship between Serbia and Azerbaijan. In this regard, we expect that the perpetrators will be identified and punished accordingly," reads the report of the Serbian embassy.—06D-
