Shahin Hasanli also condemned the lynching of believers over Wahhabi
Imam of the Baku Mosque Meshadi Dadash, theologian Shahin Hasanli condemned the lynching of a Wahhabi in Sabirabad.
The video of violence against a Wahhabi, whose beard was cut off with scissors in Sabirabad, was spread online yesterday.
Hasanli believes that no one shall be subjected to persecution for his beliefs, and violent actions are inadmissible on this ground.
Hasanli also considers unacceptable expression of protest in such a form and believes that any struggle must be conducted on a legal plane.
At the same time, he condemned the representation of this incident as opposition between religious sects in Azerbaijan.
"The footage shows that this was opposition of ordinary people who do not have deep religious knowledge; therefore presenting it as a conflict between the flows is a provocation," said Hasanli. -05B-
