Smuggling of 30 kg of drugs from Iran stopped.
Baku/22.08.23/Turan: An attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan for a total weight of 29 kg. 455 gr was precluded in the territory of the Geytepe border guard service.
A report of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan says that on August 20, around 12.15, 5 kg. 15 grams of narcotic drugs were found near the village of Lazran, Yardimly region, including 2 kg. 430 grams of marijuana, 2 kg. 585 grams of opium.
On the same day, at 13.10 near the village of Edisha, Jalilabad region, 24 kg. 440 grams of narcotic drugs were found, including 13 kg. 760 grams of marijuana, 7 kg. 870 grams of heroin, 1 kg. 815 grams of opium, 995 grams of methamphetamine. Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
