On the evening of November 2 weather in Azerbaijan deteriorated sharply. In areas of the country there was a strong gusty wind with heavy precipitation and it snowed heavily in the mountainous areas.
According to the Ministry of Environment, the rainfall was 32 mm in Lankaran-Astara (78 percent of the monthly norm), 36 mm in the Central Lowland areas (125%), 28 mm in the Greater Caucasus (43%) and 27 mm (99%) in Baku and Apsheron.
The thickness of the snow cover was 40 cm in the village Khinalig, 25 cm in Altiagach, 23 cm in Goygol, 18 cm in Dashkesan and 7 cm in Gedabey.
Because of the snowfall traffic on the road Guba-Khinalig has been closed.
In Baku and Absheron the heavy rain flooded roads and bridges, creating problems for the traffic.
According to the Center for Intelligent Transport Management, traffic jams appeared on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, the Baku-Sumgayit highway, the streets Yusif Safarov and Hasanoglu, Ataturk Avenue, the Binagadi highway and others. -16D-

On Sunday, December 22, changeable cloudy weather is expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. Drizzle is possible during the night and morning in some areas of the peninsula. Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
