Stormy wind in Balakan tore off roofs
Baku/07.09.23/Turan: On September 6, heavy rains with thunderstorms took place in the territory of Azerbaijan. Precipitation was particularly intense in the Balakan-Sheki zone. Storm wind tore the roofs off a number of buildings.
Note that 62 mm of precipitation fell in the neighboring Gabala region, 33 mm in Gakh, 25 mm in Zagatala, 18 mm in Oguz, and 15 mm in Ismayilly.
North-western wind was up to 20 m/s in Zagatala and Balakan, up to 17 m/s in Altyagach and up to 25 m/s in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula.
According to the "Oil Rocks" station, the height of the waves in the Caspian Sea has reached 3 meters.
On September 7, hail with a diameter of 17 mm fell in the Gabala region, 11 mm in the Gakh region, and 25 mm in the Zagatala region.

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees.
