Syrians and Iraqis detained for poaching
During the raid of the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology in the national park Aggel on October 17 were detained Iraqis - Jamal Ahmed Salim and Imad Alabersan Hlailin. Their various hunting equipment and traps for birds were withdrawn. On October 26 in the same area were detained citizens of Syria - Jamal Akil Mahfoz and Jomaa Alzhodea. In their car was also found numerous accessories and traps for birds. Acts were drawn up on the cases. Each of foreigners was fined 2000 manat. The purpose of bird catchers are falcons, which are highly valued in the Arab countries: Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and others. In these countries, hunting with falcons is a favorite pastime of the rich, and the price of one falcon varies from $50,000 to $100,000. Rich sheiks periodically come to Azerbaijan for a mass hunt various species of birds and animals.
