Teacher Holds Single Picket in Front of Ministry of Education
Baku / 24.09.20 / Turan: The teacher of the Siyazan boarding school Jeyran Rahbari today held a protest in front of the Ministry of Education. She spoke about the violations of the law in this gymnasium, which began after the appointment of a new director at this educational institution last summer.
According to Rahbari, she subjectively distributes the teaching load between teachers, giving more hours to teachers with fake diplomas.
According to Rahbari, the director says she has her own people in the police and the Ministry of Education and no one will do anything to her.
“In order to hide the number of students living in the dormitory, the headmaster requires teachers not to mark those who are absent from class. But I note this, because if something happens to the student, how will I prove that he was not in the hostel," Rahbari said.
For disobeying the director's orders, Rahbari was threatened and insulted, she said.
The school has 124 students and 60 employees.
According to Rahbari, attendance at the gymnasium is not recorded correctly. A commission from the Ministry of Education visited the gymnasium and found violations, but no action was taken.
Turan's request to the Ministry of Education for a comment on Rahbari's complaints remained unanswered. Also, it was not possible to contact the director of the specified educational institution. —06D-

The closure of Azerbaijan's land borders was discussed during the parliamentary session on November 25. While the government’s decision cites the coronavirus pandemic as the main reason—despite the World Health Organization declaring its end last year—Zahid Oruj, Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the Milli Majlis, pointed to other factors. He stated, "Opening the borders could result in an influx of hundreds of thousands of non-Azerbaijani refugees due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, in Iran, many are prepared to cross into Azerbaijan to safeguard their lives and assets amid military strikes. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."
