The AFFA referees' committee will be headed by a foreigner
Baku / 14.09.18 / Turan: For the first time in the football history of Azerbaijan, a foreigner has been appointed chairman of the Judicial Committee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan: a 55-year-old Austrian Fritz Stuhlik, who replaced Khagani Mamedov, who headed the Judicial Committee for many years. This decision was adopted at a meeting of the AFFA Executive Committee on Friday.
Stuhlik worked as a judged for 17 years at the matches of the Bundesliga of Austria. From January 1, 1994 to December 31, 2009 he was the referee of FIFA. Answering journalists' questions, the general secretary of AFFA Elhan Mammadov said that the structure of the judicial committee had also been changed.
"Now the Referees' Committee and the Committee of Judges-Inspectors are united into one structure," he said.
Commenting on the appointment of the Austrian, E. Mammadov said: "Fritz Stuhlik was a famous arbiter. The Executive Committee accepted his candidacy, and he was elected the new head of the joint committee," Mammadov said. -71D-
