Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of the journalist Parviz Hashimli. The court upheld the conviction of a journalist, according to the lawyer Bahruz Bayramov.
Protection Hashimli intends to appeal the decision of the appellate court to the Supreme Court.
* Employee of the newspaper "Bizim Yol", Parviz Hashimli was arrested by the MNB on September 17, 2013.
On May 15 Baku Serious Crimes Court found him guilty of illegal purchase, possession and smuggling of arms and ammunition, and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. Hashimli said that another defendant in the case incriminated him. Human rights activists have recognized Hashimli a political prisoner. 16/06D-
