The arrest of Alexander Lapshin was extended by three months
Nasimi District Court of Baku extended the arrest period of blogger Alexander Lapshin for another three months on Friday, his lawyer Eduard Chernin told Turan. According to him, the investigation motivated this by the need for additional investigative measures. Defense objected to "their reasons," said the lawyer. On the question whether this decision will be appealed, Chernin said that he does not know yet, since it is necessary to discuss this with Lapshin himself. The lawyer said that Lapshin did not complain about the conditions of his detention and his well-being. "The only complaint of Lapshin is that he does not want to be in prison," said the defender. According to the lawyer, the arrest was extended until July 15. At the same time, he abstained detailed comments in connection with the continuation of the investigation. A citizen of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Israel, Alexander Lapshin, was prosecuted for illegal visits to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and appeals against the territorial integrity of the country. At the end of 2016, he was detained in Belarus, and in early February was extradited to Azerbaijan. -06D-
