In the next few days in the Khazar district court will begin the trial of the former Manager of the presidential administration, Akif Muradverdiyev. Turan was told by the lawyer Rashad Mirmehtizadeh. According to him, Muradverdiyev has health problems and he is under the supervision of doctors in the detention center of the Interior Ministry.
Recall that Muradverdiyev was arrested July 20 in the Baku airport when he was about to fly to Moscow. According to the official version, in his hand luggage was found 40 gold coins of imperial coinage.
Muradverdiyev himself called it a provocation and said that the coins were "found" after he passed customs control.
DHS has initiated a criminal case under article 206.1 of the Criminal Code (smuggling). He faces five years in prison.
According to rumors, the authorities suspected Muradverdiyev of some kind of secret mission between Moscow and Baku. In particular, they alleged that with the help of Moscow he is funding the Azerbaijani opposition. However, any confirmation of this was not found . -03B-
