The collapse of train with petroleum products
In the evening on January 3 near the village Garasu in the Hajigabul region (90 km to the west of Baku ) crashed a freight train consisting of 43 wagons. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations , the train moved towards Baku- Udjar.
For an unknown reason seven tanks filled with gasoline derailed; the fuel is ignited , and the gasoline spilled on the territory.
It is unclear from the report of the Ministry of Emergency Situation how many wagons ignited, and how many were saved.
The fire was extinguished at 23:45. According to preliminary information, the cause of the crash became "technical failure", no one suffered, but fuel spilled in an area of 500-600 square meters.
According to the Azerbaijan Railways Department, running of trains on that section resumed in the morning on January 4. -03B-
