The court leaves journalist Polad Aslanov under arrest
Baku / 07.20.19 / Turan: The Sabail District Court, chaired by Judge Ayten Aliyeva considered a petition on the change the preventive measure against journalist Polad Aslanov and transfer him to house arrest.
The petition was not granted. The defense will appeal the decision of the court, the wife of the journalist told Turan.
The editor of the site xeberman.com, Polad Aslanov, was detained on June 12, and the next day the court arrested him for 4 months. He was charged under the Article 274 (state change) of the Criminal Code The investigation is conducted by the State Security Service.
Local and international organizations condemned the criminal prosecution of Aslanov, believing that the true reason for his arrest was his journalistic activities .-- 06B--
