The Court of Appeal dismisses an appeal against a human rights defender against ITV
Baku Court of Appeal (BCA), chaired by Aygun Abdullayeva, considered the complaint of the Director of the Institute of Reporters Freedom and Safety ( IRFS ) Emin Huseynov.
He appealed the decision of Yasamal Court of 12 December 2013 on dismissal the appeal of the human rights defender against the Public Television.
According to Huseynov, a selection held on April 23, 2013 for the post of general director of ITV was conducted with violations of the law, when candidates did not have the opportunity to present their programs. Therefore, it was proposed to hold new elections.
However, BCA rejected the appeal by Huseynov, and upheld the decision of the Yasamal court.—06D-
