The Court of Appeal leaves Elchin Gasimov in custody
Today Baku Appeal Court considered the complain of Elchin Gasimov, the deputy chairman of the "Muslim unity" Movement on the extension to him a measure of restraint - arrest. The Court dismissed the appeal and upheld the decision of the Nasimi District Court, Turan was told by the lawyer Elnur Nabiyev. The Nasimi court on July 16 extended the arrest of Gasimov for another three months. Gasimov was arrested administratively for 30 days on November 5, 2015 by the Sabunchu district police.
On completion of the term of arrest Gasimov was charged under other 11 articles, including terrorism, crimes against the state, and the constitutional order. In particular, Gasimov became a defendant in a criminal case against the leaders and activists of the "Muslim unity" Movement launched after the special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015.
Then, in an operation were killed six people, including two police officers, and was detained the leader of the "Muslim unity" Movement Thale Bagirzade and a group of his companions.
