The Court of Appeal leaves Khadija Ismayilova in custody
The Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of the journalist Khadija Ismailova, asking for the replace her measure of restraint on house arrest.
On 26 December a Sabail District Court dismissed an application for release of Ismayilova from custody, and imprison her under house arrest. Today the Court of Appeal upheld that decision in force.
* Khadija Ismayilova is charged under the Article 125 of the Criminal Code (incitement to suicide.) She was arrested on the basis of statements of Tural Mustafayev, whom she allegedly driven to suicide. Khadija Ismayilova rejects the accusations and says that she was arrested for her professional activities.
Mustafayev himself later also refused the claims to Ismaylova, but then he immediately disappeared. Prior to that, he managed to announce through social networks that they want to arrest him. -16D

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
