The judicial investigation in the "Nardaran case" will begin on August 3
Today Baku Serious Crimes Court completed a preparatory meeting on the case of the leader of the movement "Muslim unity" Thale Bagirzade, APFP deputy chairman Fuad Gahramanli, and another 16 persons. The process of so-called "Nardaran case" is held under the chairmanship of Judge Alovsat Abbasov.
During the trial, some of the lawyers of the defendants petitioned to change the preventive measure to house arrest. However, the court rejected all petitions and scheduled a hearing on the merits on 3 August.
Bagirzade together with a group of companions was detained during a special operation in the village of Nardaran on November 26, 2016. They are charged with a number of Articles of the Criminal Code, including murder, attempt to overthrow the constitutional order, illegal possession of weapons, and others. Gahramanli is accused of inciting riots, anti-state calls, inciting sectarian strife. The investigation convicted Gahramanlifor his statements on the Internet. -06D—
