Today Baku Serious Crimes Court in a closed trial in the case of the Sector chief of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Elshan Mustafaoglu a lawyer Afgan Mammadov made a final speech. The lawyer asked to justify the theologian. "Elshan Mustafaoglu, though accused of treason, but in fact do not have any hard evidence," said the lawyer. Mustafaoglu asked himself time to prepare for the final speech. The judge scheduled the next hearing on December 22. Earlier, the prosecutor asked to sentence a theologian to 12 years in prison. Mustafaoglu was arrested in December 2014. He was charged under the Article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code. Mustafaoglu was included in the list of 166 political prisoners, prepared by several human rights organizations of the country.-05B06—
