Baku /16.09.19/ Turan: Today, a new academic year has begun in all higher and secondary educational institutions of Azerbaijan.
1,525,016 students will be enrolled in secondary schools this year, including 714,259 girls and 810,757 boys;
164,234 students went to first grades today.
In the 9th grade, 122,043 students will study, in the 11th - 82782.
414,844 children will study in schools under the Baku Department of Education.
Starting from the 2015/2016 school year, classes in Azerbaijani schools begin on September 15 and end on June 14.
Since 2004, September 15 has been celebrated as Knowledge Day.
This year September 15th fell on Sunday, so the Knowledge Day is held on September 16th. -05B-

On January 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree increasing the salaries of employees in several organizations funded by the state budget. According to the decree, the monthly salaries of managerial and other employees in around 20 institutions (including the Presidium, Apparatus, and Ganja Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and the Heydar Aliyev Center) will increase by an average of 15% starting January 1, 2025.
