Baku /16.08.19/Turan: For July 1, 2019, the population of Azerbaijan reached 10 019 575 people, according to the State Statistics Committee for August 16.
The report noted that 52.8% of the population are urban residents, and 47.2% are rural.
49.9% of the country's population are men, 50.1% are women. Thus, per 1,000 men there are 1,003 women.
In the first six months of this year, 66,687 newborns were registered in the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice.
53.4% of infants are boys, 46.6% are girls. Of these, 1478 are twins and 36 are triplets.
Over the first six months of this year, 29,391 marriages and 8,257 divorces were registered, which is slightly higher than last year. -02D-
