Today at the trial in the case of the member of the board of the Popular Front Party Mammad Ibrahim held in the Narimanov district court of the capital the prosecutor asked to condemn Ibrahim to four years of imprisonment. During the trial all prosecution witnesses confirmed Ibrahim's innocence, and said that he did not use force against those whom investigation recognized as a victim.
Ibrahim also denied the charges, saying that he is being persecuted for his opposition political activities. Human rights organizations have recognized Ibrahim apolitical prisoners.
* M. Ibrahim was arrested on September 30 last year on charges of disorderly conduct (221.1) ( The complaint was filed by Mikyail Guliyev - a former member of the PFPA.) Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
