The smugglers opened fire on the border guards
Baku/16.06.22/Turan: Employees of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan prevented the smuggling of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan. One of the perpetrators was arrested, the other managed to escape.
On June 7, 2022 at 22:15, two unknown persons were seen near the village of Bartaz, Zangilan region, violating the state border of Azerbaijan from Iran, the message of the State Border Service.
Despite the order given by the border guards - "Stop, I will shoot!" and warning shots in the air, the violators resisted and encroached on the life of the border guards.
As a result of border-search activities, one of the border violators was detained. A bag of drugs weighing about 5880 grams was found on him. Another trespasser fled.
According to another message from the State Border Service, at about 2 am on June 12, information was received about a violation of the maritime border with an unknown target in the direction of Neftchala.
On the seashore near the village of Mayak, Neftchala region, border guards found two bags.
During inspection, 13 packages with 22 kg 855 g of narcotic drugs were found in them, including 15,180 grams of marijuana, 7,175 grams of opium, 500 grams of heroin and 1,543 tablets containing psychotropic substances.
