The Supreme Court begins the consideration of the case of GeselBayramli
Baku / 21.08.18 / Turan: The decisions of the court of Gazakhregion, andGanja Court of Appeals against Bayramli, who is currently in custody, are to be annulled, since they are illegal and groundless, reads the cassation complaint of the lawyer of the politician submitted to the Supreme Court, Turan was told in the PFPA. The cassation complaint expresses a request to justify Bayramli. The complaint was accepted for execution by the Board headed by the judge Hafiz Nasibov.The court trialis scheduled for 9 September.
Bayramli was detained on May 25, 2017 at the border crossing point upon her return from Georgia. A lawsuit was filed against her in accordance with Article 206.1 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code, and the court arrested her. According to the investigation, during the inspection of herbaggage were found 12 thousand dollars, which she allegedly did not declare.
Bayramli said that the money was planted to her, and her arrest was ordered. She also stated that she went to Georgia for treatment and for the last two years she underwent surgery there. On January 23, the court sentenced her to 3 years in prison. The verdict was condemned by the US State Department, PACE representatives, international human rights organizations. -03B06-
