The trial in the case of Giyas Ibrahimov postponed
The preparatory meeting in the Baku Serious Crimes Court, a youth activist Giyas Ibrahimov was postponed today. The reason is not acquainting of the accused with the indictment.
In this case the prosecutor pointed out that the term of the security measure - arrest expires on September 10, and asked to extend it. Lawyer Elchin Sadigov asked to release Ibrahimov under house arrest, but the court decided to extend the detention indefinitely. A preparatory meeting is scheduled for September 20th.
* Giyas Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov were arrested May 10 on charges of drug trafficking. They reject the accusation and say that they were arrested in connection with the graffiti made on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: "Congratulations to the slaves!" and "Down with the system!".
The investigation against Mammadov continues. -16D06-
