The wife of a political prisoner declared pressure on her husband
Baku / 31.05.19 / Turan: Guney Rahimova, the spouse of Jeyhun Aliyev, the convicted in the "Case of the Dadashbeyli Group" told Turan about the pressure on her husband in jail N7.
According to her, recently, Jeyhun has been regularly put in a punishment cell, despite the fact that he suffers from hepatitis B. The reason for the punishments is the refusal of Jeyhun to pay bribes to the jail workers.
"On far-fetched pretexts, Jeyhun is tied up and led to the head, and then put in a punishment cell. They say that he is always late, and was delayed because of telephone conversations. And the last time he was imprisoned in a punishment cell for several hours, he was accused of loudly turning on the radio," said Rahimova.
She connected the pressure on her husband by her participation in the events of the Union "For the Freedom of Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan" (FPPA), which she recently joined.
Rahimova also noted that a month ago the court refused to release her husband by parole, despite the departure of 4/5 of his punishment.
"We will use all legal means in defense of Jeyhun. We will no longer be silent before lawlessness," Rahimova said.
ESPHA Coordinator Elshan Hasanov, in turn, noted that most of the defendants in this case are already free.
"All persons involved in this case were victims of the arbitrariness of the former MNS. They unfairly spent in prisons for 10-12 years. Now only three remain imprisoned: Jeyhun Aliyev, Said Dadashbeyli and Jahangir Karimov. It is time to put an end to the torment of these people and return them to their families," Hasanov said.
* Dadashbeyli and nine more believers were sentenced to long terms of imprisonment in December 2007. They were accused of attempting a coup and a number of other serious crimes. However, the investigation was carried out by the Ministry of National Security with numerous violations. All were recognized as political prisoners. Today, Dadashbeyli, Jahangir Karimov and Jeyhun Aliyev remain in prisons.
Dadashbeyli and Karimov were sentenced to 13.5 years of imprisonment, and 1 year and 2 months left to serve. Aliyev who suffers from Hepatit-B, was sentenced to 14 year prison term, and there remains 1 year 8 months. -06B-
