Three hundred-manat fine for celebration of the Day of the Republic
Baku / 30.05.19 / Turan: On May 30, the Absheron district court chaired by Sevil Guliyeva and Shovket Najafova decided to fine the participants of the march on May 28 in honor of the Republic Day.
The rally was held in the village of Novkhany, where hundreds of activists of oppositional parties and non-party citizens came to lay flowers at the monument to the founder of the Azerbaijan People's Republic (1918-1920)
Among those who were fined 300 AZN were Member of the Coordinating Council of the National Council of Democratic Forces Tofiq Yagublu, members of the Popular Front Party Bakhtiyar Huseynov, Shakir Ahmedov, non-party Mirza Aydin.
The courts found them guilty under the Article 513.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations (violation of the rules for organizing and conducting assemblies).
The activists themselves called the court decisions ordered and intend to protest them, Turan was told by Tofik Yagublu.
The Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party, Gezal Bayramly, told Turan that on May 28, police detained eight people in the village of Novkhani. On May 31, the court will pass decisions on the other four people. -03B-
