Three officials have been placed under house arrest in connection with the fire at the Perinatal Center
Baku/10.01.23/Turan: Three officials, including the director, have been brought to criminal responsibility in connection with the fire at the Republican Perinatal Center, which caused the death of 4 infants. All three were placed under house arrest, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
Earlier, it was reported that a lawsuit has been filed on the fact of the fire under Articles 225.3 (violation of fire safety rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons) and 314.3 (negligence, resulting in the death of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The investigation found that the director of the center Mehriban Abasguliyeva improperly organized fire safety, the message of the Prosecutor General's Office stated. The cause of the fire was an overload of the power grid due to improper operation of medical equipment in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Hamlet Mustafayev, head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Elnur Akhmedli, head of the support service, were also brought to justice.
All three have been charged under these Articles. A preventive measure in the form of house arrest with dismissal from their positions. –06B-
