Tofig Yagublu on Hunger Strike for Seven Days
Baku / 08.09.20 / Turan: On the seventh day of the hunger strike, the opposition politician Tofig Yagublu is still being held in an ordinary cell in a pre-trial detention center along with other prisoners and has not been transferred to the medical unit. This was reported by his daughter Nigar Hazi.
“We haven’t talked to him on the phone today. Therefore, we are very worried. In such a situation, he should be allowed to contact his family twice a day - morning and evening. Losing time increases the risks to life. If this continues, it will obviously be necessary to hospitalize my father,” Hazi wrote on her Facebook page.
Today lawyer Nemat Karimli visited Yagublu. He told Turan that Yagublu looked very lethargic and exhausted. However, he is determined to continue the hunger strike until the end - the demand for his release. —06D-
