Tural Mammadov: Where does Ali Hasanov get millions of villas?
Baku/17.08.19/ Turan: On August 16, the Baku Serious Crimes Court, chaired by Azer Pashayev, held a regular meeting on the case of the appropriation of 564 thousand manats at the Lyceum of the Caspian Secondary School LLC.
The accused in the case are two accountants of the lyceum - Tural Mammadov and Faraim Mohbalyev. They are charged under the Article 179.4 (large assignment) of the Criminal Code.
A relative of Tural Mammadov Togrul Ismayilov was interrogated as a witness. He said that Tural bought BMW and Lexus cars in his name in 2017. After the detention of Tural, representatives of the lyceum demanded that the cars be re-registered at the lyceum. According to the witness, he was forced to do so.
In turn, the representative of the Lyceum confirmed that the cars were transferred to the institution as compensation for the damage caused, and this was done voluntarily.
This aroused the indignation of the accused Tural Mammadov, who confirmed that he had appropriated 400,000 manat: "I appropriated, I do not deny, but in this case, where did Ali Hasanov (assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on socio-political issues) get millions for villas?"
Another accused, Faraim Mohbalyev, also accused Ali Hasanov. "Our case is being investigated incorrectly at the instruction of Ali Hasanov. Those who call us criminals let them look at themselves. Sona Velieva's cousins (the founder of the lyceum is the spouse of Ali Hasanov) forced people to work without contracts, they had a fatal accident at their facilities, and they hushed the case up. How is it that the son of Sona Velieva did not even wear a military uniform for one day, but had a military ID?
The president"s administration is Ali Hasanov"s administration; all complaints about his illegal actions come to Ali Hasanov!" Mohalyev said.
After these words, Judge Pashayev interrupted the accused and hastily closed the hearing, setting the next trial for August 30.
According to the indictment, in April-October 2018, 1 million 366 thousand manat was paid for training 454 students. However, 564 thousand manats of an accountant were not included in the official documentation, but appropriated.
After the appeal of the director of the lyceum Elnur Aliyev to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal case was launched.
The defendants partially admit their guilt and argue that most of the cash was simply transferred to Sona Velieva. -21C-

On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
