The moment of the car collision
Two children dead, and three injured in a road traffic accident in the İmişli district
The Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Turan that a State Traffic Police service vehicle collided with children on the roadside after another vehicle unexpectedly cut in front of it. As a result, two children lost their lives, while the other children and the driver were taken to the hospital.
A criminal case has been initiated, and the incident is under investigation by the police and prosecution authorities.
The Press Service of the General Prosecutor's Office also told Turan that on January 18, at approximately 12:30 PM, a fatal traffic accident involving a State Traffic Police vehicle occurred on Abbasqulu Shadlinski Street in İmişli.
As a result of the accident, two individuals lost their lives, and two others, including the driver of the police vehicle, sustained injuries.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 263.3 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules and vehicle operation resulting in the death of two individuals due to negligence), and a preliminary investigation is ongoing at the İmişli district prosecutor’s office.
According to TƏBİB (the Administration of the Regional Medical Units), three injured children from the accident in İmişli were evacuated to the İmişli District Central Hospital with various degrees of injuries, one of whom is in critical condition.
A preliminary diagnosis of closed craniocerebral trauma was made for individuals born in 1992 and 2015, and initial emergency medical care was provided. They are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, and their condition is assessed as serious.
Residents of the district, dissatisfied with the incident, reportedly held a protest. They overturned the State Traffic Police vehicle.
The Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Turan that, in connection with the fatal traffic accident in the İmişli district, a group of individuals engaged in acts of hooliganism at the scene.
It was noted that individuals attempting to cause additional damage to the service vehicle and disrupt order at the scene were identified and detained.
A criminal case has been initiated, and investigations are ongoing.
