Last Saturday in the village Mushfigabad a few Wahhabis attacked a group of people during the dinner iftar on the occasion of Ramadan and beat them. The attackers were detained and taken to the 10th branch of the Garadagh district police, said religious site Islamazeri.
Turan’s attempts to get a comment in the 10th police station and the Interior Ministry gave no results.
The attack on worshipers in Mushfigabad was condemned by Imam-Jamaat of the Juma mosque, theologian Ilgar Ibrahimoglu, describing it as an attempt to apply the extremist ideology in Azerbaijan. "For this purpose a number of unstable people - followers of Salafism incite such inappropriate actions," Ibrahimoglu said.
Recall that on July 4 an online video appeared on the violent haircuts of a Wahhabi by the crowd in Sabirabad. This provoked an aggressive reaction of the Salafis, as well as their opponents.
