The National Hydrometeorological Service predicts variable weather conditions across Azerbaijan on January 27.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be cloudy and occasionally overcast, with light drizzling rain possible in some areas during the first half of the day. A northeasterly wind will prevail. The temperature is forecast to range from 3°C to 6°C at night, rising to 6°C–9°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 773 mm Hg, with relative humidity between 70% and 80%.
In Azerbaijan's regions, brief rain showers are expected, with snowfall possible in mountainous areas. Precipitation is anticipated to gradually cease starting from the western regions in the morning. Fog may occur in some areas, accompanied by easterly winds. Nighttime temperatures will range from 1°C to 5°C, while daytime highs will reach 7°C–11°C. In the mountains, temperatures are expected to drop to -3°C to -8°C at night, with daytime highs of 2°C–3°C. In high-altitude areas, severe frosts are possible, with nighttime lows falling to -10°C to -15°C.
The meteorological service has advised caution in mountainous areas due to potential icy roads and reduced visibility caused by fog.

This year, 22,000 foreign language teachers and an additional 4,000 teachers who were unable to pass certification last year will be involved in the certification process, the director of the state agency for preschool and general education, Eshgi Bagirov, announced on February 12. According to him, of the 65,000 teachers involved in the certification, 55,000 passed successfully and received salary supplements. At the same time, employment contracts were terminated with 5,000 teachers who did not pass the certification.
