Women of Azerbaijan as mirrored in official statistics
Baku/07.03.23/Turan: On the eve of the March 8 holiday, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan published statistical data on women in Azerbaijan.
According to the report, women make up 50.2% of the country's population.
Last year, 47.1% of 122.800 newborns were girls.
Women make up 81.9% of secondary school teachers and 81.3% of secondary specialized educational institutions. In universities, a specific weight of women among the teaching staff is 57.4%.
Among doctors, two out of three doctors are women.
Women make up 59.2% of employees of scientific institutions.
There are 7 women among the full members of the National Academy of Sciences, 9 among the corresponding members.
In the civil service, women make up 28% of the total number of officials. Also, 22% of individual entrepreneurs are women.
There are 18.6% of them among the deputies of the Parliament. -06-
