World Cup U-17 for Women: First Matches Played

The first-round matches of the Women's Soccer World Cup U-17 were played at the weekend.

Azerbaijan and Colombia played in Group A on Saturday after the sumptuous ceremony in the stadium named after Tofig Bakhramov, which was led by the international star Jennifer Lopez, along with the famous Canadian circus show Cirque du Soleil.

However, the presence of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Football Association - Ilham Aliyev and Rovnag Abdullayev on the stands did not help the hosts. The Colombian girls won a major victory with the score 4-0.

The other Group A match between Nigeria and Canada ended in a draw - 1:1.

Two games in Group B were also played on Saturday. North Korea's national team defeated Gambia with a score of 11:0. The match between France and the United States held in Lankaran ended with the score 0:0.

On Sunday, the following matches took place in Group C:

Mexico - New Zealand - 1:0 and Uruguay - China - 0:4.

In Group D the following results were recorded:

Brazil - Japan - 0:5 and Ghana - Germany - 1:2.
