Yunis Safarov's Wife Names Motives of Her Husband's Armed Attack on Head of Ganja

Sharafat Safarova (Najafi), in confirmation of being the spouse of Y. Safarov, demonstrated his overdue passport and marriage certificate.
Safarova said she decided to make a video message in connection with the incorrect information distributed by the official bodies of Azerbaijan and social networks, as well as doubts about her ownership of the previously published audio record.
In the video message she pointed out that her husband took this step not only "because of religion", but also because "Elmar Veliyev oppressed the people". She called the joy of people in social networks evidence of the "oppression of people" by Veliyev. "If you pay attention, you will see that the people's joy shows that Elmar Veliyev really oppressed the people," Safarova said.
She also pointed out the falsity of the information that they, together with her husband, studied in Iran. According to her, they went to Iran only for a pilgrimage.
A native of Ganja, Russian citizen Yunis Safarov, wounded Veliyev and his bodyguard Gasym Ashbazov on July 3 in the evening. On the night of July 6, Veliyev was sent to Israel for treatment. The law enforcement bodies regarded Safarov's actions as a terrorist act committed on religious grounds. -06D--
