MP Siyavush Novruzov and Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva fined
Baku / 23.08.20 / Turan: One of the leading functionaries of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Milli Mejlis deputy Siyavush Novruzov and his wife, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva were fined for participating in the wedding of the granddaughter of the former head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev. The director of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society Murad Adigelzade and his wife Aysel Adigezalzadeh ( Aysel Adigezalzadeh represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2009 in a duet with Arash) were fined for the same.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, these persons were punished under Article 211.1 (violation of the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes). Administrative Offenses Code. They were fined 400 manats ($ 240) each.
For the same amount, fines were awarded to former Minister of Communications Ali Abbasov and former rector of BSU Abel Maharramov.
Earlier, Mehdiyev’s son-in-law, former MP Ilham Aliyev and his matchmaker Rovshan Mustafayev were arrested for 15 days for holding a wedding celebration in violation of the quarantine regime.

During the 11th meeting of the border delimitation commissions between Azerbaijan and Armenia on January 16, the directions for the delimitation process were determined, the State Commission of Azerbaijan on Border Delimitation and Demarcation with Armenia reported. Ramil Eynaliev, an activist from the Lankaran branch of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PPFA), has been administratively arrested for 30 days on charges of "disobeying the police." According to the PPFA, Eynaliev was detained the day before and taken to the third police station of the Khazar district in Baku. The party believes that the true reason for his arrest is a critical comment he made on social media.
