Tofig Yagublu Has Liver Problems
Baku / 15.09.20 / Turan: On Tuesday, blood samples were taken from Tofig Yagublu, a member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat party, who is on hunger strike for 14 days, at City Hospital.
Turan was informed about this by the attending physician Adil Geybulla.
According to him, biochemical analysis revealed some changes.
“These changes show abnormalities in the functioning of the liver. Therefore, today we started the infusion to eliminate the problems that have arisen. Tofig Yagublu's condition can be considered satisfactory so far. However, for a person who has been on a hunger strike for such a long time, any complications in the body may arise,” the doctor said.
The politician's daughter Nigar Hazi said the analyzes revealed deviations from the norms in other indicators.
Further hunger strikes increase health and life risks, Hazi said.
She noted that today his lawyer Agil Laidj was not allowed to see Yagublu.
Tofig Yagublu began a hunger strike on September 2 to protest the fabricated charges against him. On September 3, the Nizami court sentenced him to 4 years 3 months in prison on charges of hooliganism. International organizations and Western governments have questioned the credibility of the charges and the legality of the verdict. Amnesty International recognizes Yagublu as a “prisoner of conscience”.—021B06-
