"Officials serve the system, not society"

The 2024 Nobel laureates in economics have been announced, and the prize was awarded to Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson for their joint research. In my opinion, these names are symbolic.

The "National Strategy for Efficient Use of Water Resources" of Azerbaijan is a comprehensive framework aimed at addressing critical issues in the management of the country's water resources and ensuring sustainable water use amidst ongoing climatic and demographic changes. This strategy, adopted by the presidential decree on October 10, 2024, builds upon earlier decrees and plans, such as the "Additional Measures for Ensuring Efficient Use of Water Resources" from 2020. The strategy outlines a long-term vision for water resource management and is structured into three implementation phases covering the period from 2024 to 2040.

On a quiet morning in early September, a social media storm erupted in Azerbaijan. Farid Pardaşunas, a member of the Board of the Press Council, publicly accused Wikipedia contributors of removing thousands of articles about martyrs who had died in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. His posts claimed that nearly 3,000 entries had been deleted, an action he vowed to address by appealing to law enforcement and the State Security Service.

According to an official statement, by the end of 2026, a per capita funding system will be implemented in schools. Currently, this is being piloted in a group of schools, with plans to expand to 100 schools by 2026.
